I participated in the Multiple Levels - Cafe Barista Training in Canberra run by ONA. It was very informative and enjoyable. I learned a lot and it was not just theory - we each worked making coffees in realistic settings and had to meet the demands of concocted orders. We had to do this efficiently and to a high standard. (I never did produce any masterpieces of latte art though but that will come!).
I recommend this course for the home barista who wants to impress family and friends and for the professional who wants to get into hospitality.
With so many decisions to be made in coffee making - type of coffee, which roast, grind, brew time, is créma important, which coffee with/without milk, milk temperature etc I decided to embark on a barista course. It was excellent in its presentation and I was very satisfied with the outcomes.
Chris was our knowledgable teacher and trainer. Practice, practice, practice was integral to the course and Chris handled it all very well - including some unexpected challenges made by us students.
